| Their Memories: in memoriam of those who have passed away | ||
| Memories : description The story This project come from my own history. End of September 2001, I lost my girlfriend in a tragic accident. She was from another country, and she was there when she died. I decided to arrange all the funeral questions; to find a company to make and install a beautiful gravestone. I found, I choosed the one which is certainly the best company of the country. I succeeded to do it, very far from there, without meeting anyone of this company. Then I had the need to make a photo album of our memories, then a website. I had the need to rebuild all of our memories. I recovered voice messages (from my answering machine), then I searched the web all photos of places where we were together. Later, I began to recover my different mailboxes to make an archive of all our mails. I've gone also more often to her family. I visit them as often as I can, generally 2 times a year. Once, when I've gone to her family, I took my laptop and my scanner, and I made scans from all the family photo albums, which had, of course, all photos of my friend's life. I decided to add the photos we made together and to make a complete photo album about all her life. This is a big work to organize a full life memory. I wanted a digital book, from which all photos are optimized for photographic print with equal - or even better - quality as originals. For some photos, I missed the negatives, for others were only poor quality digitals (low res) I made with a little camera. About the website, I wanted to add links to places of her life, to places where we went together, to add her voice messages, musics she liked... Technically, this work is not hard for me: there are several years that I work in digital fields. The hardest part of this painful work is that it is necessary to overcome the sadness. How came the project idea As I said, this is a big work. I was thinking that what I did for myself I can do it for others. When tragedies happen, you become far from the ordinary social and work life. Your pain makes impossible a lot of actions. Memories project is a big work. I know the technical part and, certainly the most important, I know the sentimental part of such intimate question. I know the value it has, how important are the feelings. What is the project The project is to offer a range of services related to memories, with the aim to help people in any field related to the lost of a beloved person, to help people who wants to make, build or rebuild, memories. Everyone is unique for someone, and everyone is great for someone. This is why every memory work is unique. To never forget. The aim is to provide help, support and services to build memories, from conception to realisation, including all what can be related to a deceased person. For any request, depending on the case, it will be defined what is your exact need and if a supplier is needed. Lost people and alive people: This project has been made step by step, from the needs. The project was initially conceived to help people to make memories. However, the work to organize a biography, for alive persons, is technically very similar than for deceased persons. Although the project is mainly - and was initially - dedicated to those who have passed away, it is not restricted to lost people and the services are also open to people who want to make, to build, biographies of alived people. |
